R1 million in dagga found in Pinetown house

A massive stash of drugs was discovered in a New Germany house on Sunday, January, 15.

Litres of benzine, magic mushrooms and a hefty 15o kilograms of compressed dagga were found in the house as authorities swooped in to search the premises. Hawks members along with ethekweni Inner South Crime Intelligence, Shongweni K9 and Durban Metro Police conducted the search in the New Germany home.

The confiscated dagga with a street value of approximately R1 millon was discovered thanks to a tip off about a man dealing in dagga and cannibis oil in the area.

The 58-year-old male was subsequently arrested and was charged for dealing in dagga. He is due to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today, 16 January 2017.
